Call for Proposals
Valancourt Books always welcomes proposals for new editions in our
areas of specialty. At present, we specialize in British and
American fiction from the 18th, 19th, and early
20th centuries; we also occasionally publish translations
of foreign works that have enjoyed a particular popularity or
influence in English-speaking countries. Many of our best editions
have come about as a result of suggestions from readers frustrated at
not having been able to find a copy of a particular rare book or from
instructors who have wanted to teach a classic text but found it out
of print. Please note that we specialize in popular fiction,
including weird, supernatural, mystery, Gothic, adventure, fantasy,
horror, and gay interest; we also occasionally publish important
works outside these genres which have fallen out of print with
Penguin and Oxford.
Although we encourage all suggestions and proposals for new editions,
we would be especially pleased to receive proposals for editions of
the following works. This list is by no means comprehensive, but is
representative of the types of works we are seeking.
For more information on how to submit a proposal, see our page here.
